1 How would you describe the aesthetics of your film?
Not ‘image making’ as in features shot on film, but ‘image taking’ kind of
filmmaking somewhere between feature and documentary filmmaking.
2 Why did you choose to shoot on dv?
I chose dv to make a very low budget film in which I can have a total artistic
freedom.
3 What was special about shooting in dv (e.g. compared to 35mm, was it your
first time with dv or are you used to it)?
It was my first time shooting in dv. I’ve made films before on 35mm and
16mm, and with dv I thought I had to change my conventional way of using film language. I thought I had to find a new film language for digital filmmaking.
4 Which camera and which editing software did you use?
We’ve used one Sony DSR-PD100A(PAL system camera), and edited on PC using
Premier software.
5 What was your shoot-edit ratio?
16:9 / wide screen.
6 Would you have preferred to shoot in another format? If so which?
With this film, I still think that dv was the right choice.
7 Does using dv mean that you are considering other means of distribution
opposing the established? If so which?
No, I’m thinking of distributing my film in the traditional way.
8 One good word about dv (or two):
Cheap.
9 One bad word about dv (or two):
none.
